David was a good friend with King Saul's son, Jonathan. King Saul knew all the people loved David and was jealous of him. He was afraid that David would try to take over as King, so he tried to kill David. Jonathan warned David about King Saul so he could be safe. David and Jonathan were sad that David had to go away. |
"Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul." 1 Samuel 20:17 (NKJV)
