King Ahasuerus held a great feast. When he was merry with wine, he commanded that Queen Vashti wear her crown and parade in the halls so everyone could see her great beauty. Queen Vashti chose to disobey the king's command. King Ahasuerus was angry with the queen and declared that she would no longer be queen.
