King David Keeps a Promise
1 Samuel 27, 28, 31, and 2 Samuel 9
Jonathan and David were good friends. Even though Jonathan's father, Saul, tried very hard to kill David, David promised that he would not kill Saul's sons.
|
When Saul and Jonathan were killed in battle, David was made king of all Israel. He kept his promise and found and protected Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth. Like David, we must remember to keep our promises.
