David and Bathsheba

2 Samuel 11-12

King David saw a beautiful woman named Bathsheba, and he wanted her for his wife. There was a problem. She was already married to one of the soldiers in David's army. David made a bad choice and did something very wrong. He gave a command that Bathsheba's husband, Uriah, be placed in a dangerous position in the battle line so that he would be killed.
When he died, David married Bathsheba. David's sin was so bad that it hurt many people around him. God sent the prophet Nathan to tell David of his sin. David was immediately sorrowful and asked God to forgive him. God did forgive him but did not take away the punishment and sadness caused by David's sin.

Memory Verse
