Ezra Goes to Jerusalem

Ezra 7 & 8

The Jews had been allowed to return to Jerusalem under King Cyrus and to rebuild the temple. It took many years, but the temple was finally rebuilt. However, the Jews did not know God's law and were not worshipping Him correctly. Ezra was a scribe who wanted to go to Jerusalem and teach God's Word to the Jews. King Artaxerxes gave Ezra permission to go to Jerusalem. The king sent gifts and men to protect Ezra on his journey.
